DIY or professional install. A cable tidy/mounting bracket is included to mount the router to the wall inside a cupboard, straight on the wall or under a shelf. And the included cable tidy hides messy excess cable. We include a Telstra starter SIM that you can charge for the month or for the year. This can become your caravan SIM and you might only want to charge it for the time you're away where the cables pass through the roof. Surface mounting the antenna requires a separate surface mount bracket (choose from the options) that raises the antenna off the roof by 50mm and allows you to mount the antenna in a different location to where the cables enter through the van roof (limited by the cable length of 2 metres). The antenna is adhered to the bracket using the adhesive pad and threaded spigot and the lock nut pulls it down tight to the surface mount bracket thus removing any chance of the adhesive pad giving way over time. Included with the surface mount bracket is a cable entry roof plate for a neat, weatherproof finish. The cables will enter the van via the entry plate down into an overhead cupboard.
<div modem or router at home wirelessly using our phones, iPads, computers and smart TV's. And, with a strong signal coming into the home modem either via cable, wireless or satellite, this is a reliable means of connecting to the internet.

In a caravan, everything changes -we're limited to (in most cases) a wireless signal from a nearby mobile phone tower. And not only can the signal be weak due to distance from the tower, power output of the tower and terrain over which the signal needs to travel, but is also hindered by the tiny little antenna built into your mobile phone that is doing its best to receive and transmit that data. In a country as large as Australia, this is definitely challenging and one of the few solutions to resolving this is to improve the overall design of the antenna, place it in a high position and match the antenna up to a high performance router that is able to lock on to extremely weak signals. This in turn will hopefully improve the connection enough to make it usable for connecting to the internet and sending and receiving data in weaker signal areas.

Meet the Reach 360. A high gain, omni-directional antenna that exceeds the performance of most competitors due to the attention to detail of the design of this high gain antenna. Matched to an industrial, bullet proof, high sensitivity router from Teltonika -a leading edge company that focuses on researching and developing some of the most robust network equipment used in medical, industrial, scientific and defense sectors as well as recreational use in agricultural, marine and RV applications.

So, how does it work?

Simple...the antenna is installed and affixed to the roof of your motorhome, caravan or RV. Then the cables are routed through the roof to the router which is located inside the RV. The router is powered by 12~24V DC (or via 240V AC) and an active SIM is inserted into the router. The SIM can be from any network provider however we do suggest using Telstra due to their greater coverage in regional and rural areas. When switched on, the router emits a WIFI signal just like at home and you connect to the router with your phone, laptop or wireless device using a password. Once connected for the first time your device will remember the password and automatically connect each time you power up the router. When you connect to the internet and visit a webpage, send an email, update your Facebook page etc, data is sent from your phone wirelessly to the router and up through the cables to the antenna. Then from the antenna, gain of the transmitted signal is increased to maximise your chance of connection to the mobile phone tower. This also works in reverse from the tower to your phone via the antenna and router.

FAQ

Why is my router slower than my phone at times and in certain locations?

Modern phones support faster LTE technologies than most routers as they are made and used for different purposes. The RUT 240 is a category 4 router and the RUT360 is a category 6 router. The higher the category, the faster the speed (in general). There may be times when you are in a high signal area that your mobile phone may be able to download at a speed greater than your Teltonika router. This is normal and to be expected due to the overall electronic design of high end iPhone and Samsung products. Although at times this may be the case, keep in mind that in most rural locations, your Reach will not only offer higher speeds, it will also provide greater coverage and convert your caravan to a hotspot that multiple users and devices can connect to unlike your mobile phone.

Why is the RUT 360 faster than the RUT 240?

The RUT 360 is a category 6 router and utilises carrier aggregation (CA). CA functionality makes the RUT 360 faster in areas or applications where cellular data speeds are limited.

How many devices can connect to the router?

Up to 50 devices can connect simultaneously to the router.

Is the router locked to a particular carrier?

No, both the RUT 240 and RUT 360 are unlocked and can be used with any network provider

How long is the Reach 360 antenna cable?

The antenna cable is 2 metres long and this length is ideal for minimising signal loss while still providing installation flexibility.

How much gain does the antenna have?

The Reach 360 antenna gain is 5.8dBi @ 1710 ~ 2700 MHz and 3.5dBi @ 690 ~ 960 MHz. Antenna gain, although very important is only part of the reason that the Reach 360 antenna works so well. The antenna exceeds the performance of most competitors due to the attention to the design of this high-gain antenna.

Caravan Internet Antenna | Reach 360 Antenna with Category 4 Router

Product Description

Internet for your caravan. Incomparable to any other omnidirectional RV WIFI kit on the market. The highest gain antenna and the most advanced router makes the Reach 360 the best caravan internet kit in Australia.

Are you looking for the best possible internet coverage around Australia as you travel in your caravan or motorhome? Look no further than the Reach 360 RV WIFI 3G / 4G caravan internet kit. With the Reach 360 roof mounted, high performance caravan internet antenna paired to the absolute best quality Teltonika router, you'll be connected where others can't.

Reach 360 Antenna kit with Teltonika RUT240 industrial router - This package includes a high performance Reach 360 antenna, RUT 240 router, cable tidy/mounting bracket, 240V power adapter, 12V cigarette lead and Telstra SIM starter pack. The RUT 240 router is a category 4 router and is ideal for those of you who are looking for greater network coverage and not necessarily the highest speed. You'll have enhanced coverage and performance due to the high gain, high performance, roof mounted antenna. Installation is easy DIY or professional install. A cable tidy/mounting bracket is included to mount the router to the wall inside a cupboard, straight on the wall or under a shelf. And the included cable tidy hides messy excess cable. We include a Telstra starter SIM that you can charge for the month or for the year. This can become your caravan SIM and you might only want to charge it for the time you're away in the van. The router is not locked to any network so you may choose to use your own SIM and carrier.
Installation is easy and the antenna can be SPIGOT mounted, surface mounted or for a temporary solution in a car or truck - magnetically mounted. Everything is included in the kit for spigot mounting and this is ideal where the antenna will be mounted on the roof directly above the overhead cupboard where the cables will pass through via the spigot.

Surface mounting is where the antenna is located at a different position to where the cables pass through the roof.

Regardless of your mounting method, the router should be located inside the van near a 12V cigarette socket as the kit includes a 12V cigarette lead as well as a 240V power adapter.

Most of us connect to a modem or router at home wirelessly using our phones, iPads, computers and smart TV's.

The radiation patterns of all elements provide an excellent balance between omnidirectionality, pattern diversity and good radiation abilities at the desired elevation. This is an important criterion for the transportation and marine market, which the antenna was specifically designed for.
